Measuring principle
The analyzer works on completely controlled stripping principle, where water sample flow and temperature and striping gas flow (air or nitrogen) and all main parameters of analyzer are controlled by internal PLC. There are no any dozing valves – it is direct measurement of stripped components on PID, FID, TCD and many other detectors.
The analyzer is a system that allows, by continuous bubbling, to remove hydrocarbons from the water and monitor their concentration using various types of detectors: flame ionization (PID), photo-ionization (FID), semiconductor (PPD), thermo-catalytic (TCD), electrochemical (ECD) and other types of detectors, depending on the type of controlled substances.
The carrier gas is continuously passed through the sample heated to the required temperature, the hydrocarbon molecules from the water fall into the gas and are carried to the detector, which forms the primary measuring signal.
The carrier gas, as a rule, is the instrument air, and for particularly clean environments and for measuring of particularly low concentrations in media such as water vapor condensate, it is advisable to use network nitrogen to exclude the influence of impurities contained in the compressed air.
Based on the calibration data, the controller converts the detector signal into a concentration and generates the analyzer output signal.
Analyzer design
The analyzer structurally consists of two compartments: the electronics compartment and the analytical compartment. In the first case there are controllers, relays and all the necessary electrical equipment for the operation of the device. In the analytical compartment there is a bubbler, a heater and a primary converter of the appropriate type.
The device is implemented on a modern controller base and has extensive self-diagnosis functions. All the main parameters, such as air pressure, temperature in the bubbler, temperature in the device casing and other necessary for the smooth operation of the device are controlled by the device. All the most important parameters are saved on a flash drive.
Analyzer is equipped by 7" LCD.
There are several explosion proof versions, the most convenient are Expx for PID and Expz for other detector types.
The purge control system is located at the panel above the analyzer.
The analyzer design allows easy access for repair and maintenance of all analyzer components.
The following additional functions are available as options:
- Filter back-purge function (auto-cleaning), which is important for polluted environments;- Automatic sampling for laboratory analysis;
- Automatic analysis of multiple streams.
